Refurbished Drum Scanners

Let's face it, drum scanners are synonymous with quality.  From the early days of scanning, trained scanner operators knew that obtaining the highest quality meant PMT technology only found in drum scanners. While high-end flatbed scanner have significantly evolved over the years, drum scanners are still considered king-of-the-throne for digitizing film.  Drum scanners also give the user more control over how the scan is captured; many drum scanner brands allow the operator the ability to override software settings to make manual adjustments to focus and aperture size.

Over the years, drum scanners have evolved from highly complex machines that took up the space of an entire wall, to less sophisticated devices with much smaller footprints.   These newer style drum scanners are more user friendly than their older counterparts and do not require specially trained operators.  With that said, the more knowledgeable you are about the process of drum scanning, the better your results will be.  Buying a drum scanner will not automatically make you a scanning expert with the inherent ability to produce superior results.  To obtain the highest quality scans requires a baseline understanding of drum scanning, the scanning software and the proper techniques of fluid mounting.

ScanSolutions specializes in the more common drum scanner brands:  Aztek, Howtek and LinoType-Hell/Heidelberg.  Models we sell and service include:  the Premiere, ScanMaster 4000, ScanMaster 4500, ScanMaster 6500/7500, HiResolve 8000 and the Tango/Primescan.
